Hello my name is...

I guess I should introduce myself.

My name is Ashley.

I am a creative person (in the sense that I like to create things, not in the self-complimentary sense.).

I started this blog to help motivate me to keep up the creativity in my life. I find myself in quite the post-degree slump and I need something around that keeps me happy. I always find myself sitting around THINKING of a million things I could be doing with my time, but see little through to fruition. I am using this blog to post everything and anything I think up and to motivate myself to keep it going.

Oh yeah, and as the tagline says I will be crafting like a scientist. It will not necessarily be a how-to but a how-not-to kind of blog. You can see what I did to create the project and all the mistakes along the way. Enjoy!

Some tidbits on who the heck you're dealing with:

• I have graduated recently with two degrees, one in Anthropology and the other in French. 
• My foci (it is foci, right?) in those majors have led me to find that I want to dig up medieval french people. 
• I once went to FIDM for Fashion Design because I wanted to be a costume designer. 
• I am a fabric hoarder. I love fabric. Makes me feel creative.
• I have worked at the local Renaissance Festival for the last 12 years.
• I am a Morris Dancer and a burgeoning concertina player. 
• I am currently residing in Phoenix, Arizona and consider it my home.
• My mom always encouraged creativity, and even had a whole wall in my childhood home dedicated to our creations (Figured this was relevant...).
• I own more books than places to put them.
• I can't really label myself, but if I did I'd be a hipsterennienerd. Hm... I think I know a few other people in that category...

And on a personal note: I have been diagnosed in the last couple years with not only major depression, but also ADHD, so I hoping to be able to use this blog as a sort of therapy since my over-qualified-for-and-under-paid serving job doesn't give me the benefit of, well, benefits.

So for you readers, bear with me, I am going to try my best.
